Art that refuses to stay inside the frame.
A creative project rooted in fearless expression, experimental beauty, and elevated storytelling — where the mythology of the work is as deliberate as the music itself.
At the intersection of art, performance, and culture, Oscar's work embraces the unexpected through dramatic vision, conceptual depth, and emotionally charged sound. Where the strange and the beautiful are not opposites.
Much of this music lives in a space Oscar perceives as Magical Horror — a genre he has come to define through his own work. The goal is always a cinematic experience: music that doesn't just play, but pulls you into a world where the atmosphere is as deliberate as every note.
Guitarist · Composer · Producer · Teacher · Toronto
Trained in the classical tradition and with over 26 years of musical experience, Oscar Rangel has built a career that refuses categorization. His work spans classical solo performance, cinematic metal, experimental production, and theatrical concert design — each discipline feeding the others.
Based in Toronto, he founded Operus in 2012 — an epic metal ensemble with concert appearances in Canada, Mexico, and Germany — and toured extensively across multiple countries as a member of Annihilator (2014–2015). He operates Adlivitum Arts, an independent imprint for music that exists outside comfortable categories.
He leads classical guitar recitals — intimate night gatherings where the music is the only light that matters. The invitation is always open. The address is rarely given twice.
The door is open to those who know how to knock.
